I’ve decided to start summarising some of the commits made to HHVM each week. I won’t post all of them (you can view those on github if you want), just the ones I either find interesting or think would be of interest to others.
I’m not part of the HHVM team, nor do I work for Facebook. These are just the ramblings of a community member that likes to follow all the exciting new things being added (which does lead to some interesting commits ?)
This week, there’s been some work on general PHP compatibility from the community as well as some major PHP7 features from the HHVM team. The Windows port and documentation rewrite are ongoing. Also, a fix to a bug I ran into ?
My highlights from the commits to HHVM for the week ending 2015-12-04 are:
- More general compatibility with PHP:
- More work on getting HHVM and Hack to work in Windows: Parts one, two, three and four.
- Updates to HHI files:
- Further refinement of the new documentation:
- Correct handling of
nullvalues passed to
- Further PHP7 support:
- A JIT optimisation to remove a ref-count decrease followed by a ref-count increase without reads of the ref-count between.
